With the advent of transcontinental travel in the 1950s, it was found that aircraft consecutively flown through several time zones in a short time. For the first time it was important to help you stay informed about the times at different locations in the world. It was the beginning of the jet age, and Rolex responded with a clock, which corresponded to the spirit of this time.
The Rolex GMT-Master was the result of a tender for the company Pan Am. It was developed for the specific needs of transport pilot and became the official watch of several airlines, including the famous Pan American World Airways, better known as Pan Am. My most striking optical feature was the two-tone designed to distinguish between day and night hours bezel. The GMT-Master with its blue / red bezel is probably the Rolex sports model with the greatest brand recognition effect.
